Universal Endless Summer Resort : Surfside Inn & Suites

Howe CxA was the acting Special Inspector for the life safety systems, and assisted with site walks and scheduling during the construction process to meet the testing deadlines on this project. The resort utilizes stair pressurization systems in all six egress stairways that allow residents to evacuate the hotel utilizing the stairs in the event of a fire in the building, of which, we were able to complete all required testing and verification activities during the testing phase.

This property is owned and operated by Loews Hotel, designed by  Lindsey, Pope, Brayfield and Clifford Architects and Finfrock Design, and is part of the Universal owned Hotels for Universal Studios Orlando Theme Parks. The Hotel was constructed under Finfrock Construction and Hoar Construction, and completed in June 2019. As a 9-story high-rise that primarily consists of residential (hotel) occupancies, it houses 750 guest rooms, a food court and large pool and splash pad. This also includes storage (parking), dining, assembly and circulation spaces.
